Neander Jin – A comedic look at where we came from, and where we are headed

The journey of Neander Jin continues, Neander Jin scores 12 awards in the United States of America. Growing interest in Asia. Neander Jin is now also recognized as a Science-Fiction/ Fantasy Film.

After receiving an “Honorable Mention” at the Mockfest of Hollywood, LA the end of 2011, Neander Jin got two more awards at the beginning 2012. “Honorable Mention” at the Los Angeles Movie Awards in California and “OFFICIAL BEST OF FEST” 2012. The prestigious award jury had more than 7000 feature films to choose from and picked “Neander Jin – The Return of the Neanderthal Man” as an “Award-winning Film to Make you Laugh”. The motto of the festival is “The best films you have never seen”.

"OFFICIAL BEST OF FEST employs an army of curators to find the best of the best undistributed shorts and features. The goal is to give underappreciated and overlooked independent films the attention they deserve... or as founder Rick Stevenson puts it, "help a quality-starved public, junk-food fed audience get cinematic nourishment." It's the ultimate international great film find fed by the world's best film festival programmers.”

There is also a growing interest for Neander Jin in Asia. The film was screened and well received at the Tamil Nadu Film Festival in Chennai, India at the end of 2011.

The first time in his life Director and Producer Florian Steinbiss travelled in January 2012 to India. Neander Jin – The Return of the Neanderthal Man was shown in the Global cinema section of the 10th Pune International Film Festival. The film was the only film of the festival that was shown three times and very well received by the film loving and knowing general audiences. Fellow directors and expert of the fields predicted a commercial potential for “The Return of the Neanderthal Man” in India.

Florian Steinbiss had also the honor to be a jury member at the 10th PIFF for both the Marathi Cinema Competition sections and the Whistling Woods Student Competition Live Action, together with the Iranian actress Laleh Eskandari and the Indian director Ranjith Kumar.

Neander Jin – The Return of the Neanderthal Man was also screened at the same time as at the 10th Pune International Film Festival eighteenhundred kilometers away at the 12th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh in the World Cinema Section. The screening was featured by the local Goethe-Institute and took place at the Main Auditorium of the National Museum.

Neander Jin – The Return of the Neanderthal Man was accepted at the 37th Boston Science Fiction Film Festival, MA which took place from February 10th – to February 20th, 2012.
Neander Jin is mainly viewed as a comedy, social satire or entertaining ArtHouse Film. It´s the first time that the film is accepted as a fantasy film which might help to attract different kinds of audiences.
